Luiz Fernando Furlan

Luiz Fernando Furlan is a member of McLarty Associates’ Board of Counselors. He is based in Brazil.

Mr. Furlan served as minister of development, industry and foreign trade of Brazil from 2003 to 2007 and is a member of the boards of AGCO Corporation (USA), BRF SA(Brazil), Telefónica SA (Spain), and Telefônica Brasil SA (Brazil), as well as a member of the advisory boards of Panasonic (Japan) and ABERTIS Infraestructuras SA (Spain).

He serves also as Chairman of the board of the Amazonas Sustainability Foundation and is a member of the Global Ocean Commission (USA), and the Superior Council of Management in public health of the São Paulo State (Brazil).

Previously, Mr. Furlan was Chairman of the board of directors of Sadia SA, one of Brazil’s largest food processing companies, from 1993 to 2002; and Co-Chairman of the board of BRF SA from 2009 to 2010 (Brazil). He has also served on the boards of corporations such as Redecard (Brazil) and AMIL Participações SA (Brazil).
