Vitas has worked as an English teacher, soccer coach, and most recently as a political risk analyst and freelance reporter. He has covered the 2023 election cycle in Nigeria, the use of economic sanctions in the Middle East, and the intersection of sports and climate change. His academic research has centered on the use of sport as a political tool and its role in culture and society.
Vitas holds a B.A. in Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture from Syracuse University and a Master’s in International Relations from the Institut Barcelona d’estudis Internacionals. He is a fluent Spanish speaker with proficiency in French and German.
