Mack McLarty on the passing of Barbara Bush

Barbara Bush was a role model in so many ways – as a First Lady, as a spouse, as a parent, as a fierce advocate for literacy throughout our country and dignity in our politics. But for all the many roles she occupied during her long life, both formal and informal, Barbara was always completely and thoroughly herself, a one-of-a-kind combination of grace, wit, and generosity. She will be greatly missed.

Donna and I consider it a privilege to have had the opportunity to know her and we join the countless Americans sending condolences, love, and prayers to President Bush and the entire Bush family.
