Associate, Office of the President
McLarty Associates, a global strategic advisory firm based in Washington, DC with offices in Brussels, Beijing, and Singapore, seeks a bright, resourceful, detail-oriented, and energetic junior professional to be an associate in the office of the president in our Washington office.
As an associate in the office of the president, the primary responsibility will be to directly support the firm’s president in firm management, business development, and client services efforts under the supervision of the office’s senior associate. More detailed responsibilities include providing administrative support and scheduling, conducting research, writing and editing reports and correspondence, planning events, coordinating travel, and handling external communication.
The ideal candidate must be well-organized, flexible, able to anticipate change, able to perform well under pressure, and up to date on current international political and business issues. It is critical that the candidate is able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, especially when interacting with senior-level contacts. The candidate must be a team player who takes initiative, anticipates needs, and adapts to demanding and ever-changing situations.
All candidates should have a strong background and demonstrated interest in international affairs and business diplomacy honed through study, work, and time spent abroad. Proficiency in at least one foreign language and WordPress is preferred. BA/BS required, with a minimum 3.5 GPA. An interest in politics is preferred.

We seek highly motivated students who are interested in learning more about the field of international strategic advising and who have a strong background in regional and international studies as well as economics, trade and/or business.
Interns and Graduate Fellows are an integral part of our team. The focus of the internship is on research and writing, however selected students are viewed as active participants in the entire client services process and thus get exposure beyond research.
Students who are currently attaining a Master’s degree are eligible to be a Graduate Fellow.

Intern/Graduate Fellow, Latin America
McLarty Associates is seeking a graduate student or undergraduate senior for a paid semester internship focusing on the Latin American region. Applicants for the position should meet the following criteria:
The ideal candidate is an accomplished researcher, has excellent writing skills in English and Spanish and is exceptionally organized, with an understanding of international politics, economics, business and culture. He or she should have a strong background, demonstrated interest, and experience living or studying in Latin America, as well as fluency in Spanish.
Responsibilities of the internship include extensive research of public policy and business issues; translation; attending and reporting on speeches, panel discussions and policy forums of interest to the firm and clients; assisting professional staff with general office and administrative support; and a commitment to work 40 hours per week from August through the end of December.
