Thena Lee, Senior Manager, is based in Beijing, where she is responsible for market policy research, client engagement, and partnership building.
Prior to joining McLarty Associates, Thena worked for five years as the deputy communications director at the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy, the Beijing center of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. At Carnegie, she lead the center’s government relations practice, including stakeholder management, track 1.5 Dialogues, and new program development. Thena has also worked as a project manager in the Tianjin Airport Economic Area Administrative Committee in the Tianjin Free Trade Zone. In Washington, Thena has worked at the Atlantic Council Brent Scowcroft Center for International Security.
Thena is currently a co-head of the Beijing Chapter of the Young China Watchers. She received an MA in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the Elliott School of International Affairs of the George Washington University, and a BA in Law and International Politics from Central China Normal University. She speaks Chinese, English, and Spanish.
