Rafael Nieto, Senior Advisor, is a member of our Americas team and is based in Bogotá.
He formerly served as the Vice Minister of Justice under President Álvaro Uribe Vélez and as an advisor for political and international affairs and human rights in the Ministry of Defense in Colombia.
A lawyer and political economist, Mr. Nieto has consulted on justice, security and defense issues for the governments of Costa Rica, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay and Uruguay, as well as for the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the United Nations Development Program, among other multilateral organizations.
Mr. Nieto has been an advisor on crisis management, public image and reputation, conflict resolution and negotiation, community relations, and corporate social responsibility for the International Finance Corporation and recognized multinational corporations around the world. He is a columnist in Colombia’s most important newspapers and formerly hosted a TV and radio program on the largest Colombian media network.
