Kyle Gardner, Senior Associate, supports our India & South Asia and business development teams and is a specialist in South Asian affairs.
Kyle helps clients navigate regulatory and policy issues across South Asia and supports our India & South Asia and business development teams. He joined MA after teaching at the University of Chicago. Kyle has lived, studied, and conducted research in South Asia for over a decade, including one very cold year spent living in the Himalayan region of Ladakh.
In addition to his work with McLarty Associates, Kyle is a non-resident scholar at the Sigur Center for Asian Studies at George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs. He has written extensively on South Asian history and politics, and his book on the India-China border, The Frontier Complex, is being published worldwide by Cambridge University Press in 2021. He received a PhD in history, with distinction, from the University of Chicago, an MA from the University of Chicago, and a BA, with high honors, from Wesleyan University. Kyle has studied French, Hindi, Tibetan, and Urdu. He is a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
