João da Hora Lima

João da Hora Lima, Associate, supports our Europe practice and is based in Brussels.

João specializes in EU government and public affairs. João has assisted clients in different roles and in various sectors, including circularity, sustainability, and (geo)political and strategic affairs.

Before joining McLarty Associates, João gained significant experience at Portland Communications in Brussels. He also has a background in multilateral diplomacy at the Permanent Mission of Portugal to the UN in New York, and in EU decision-making as a trainee for a Member of the European Parliament.

João holds a Master of Arts in EU International Relations and Diplomacy from the College of Europe in Bruges and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Portuguese Catholic University. A native of Portugal, João is fluent in French and English and has intermediate proficiency in Spanish and German.
