Christian Willmes, Associate, supports our Europe & Eurasia practice.
Prior to joining McLarty, Christian served as a fellow in public policy and regulation at the London School of Economics, where he was also head tutor for an executive education course on innovations in public policy. He completed his doctoral work at the University of Oxford, where he explored private authority in global governance with a focus on the impact of private standards on the public sector. His interest and expertise lie in technical standard-setting and the regulation of emerging technologies. He has lived, studied, and worked in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Christian holds a DPhil in international relations from the University of Oxford, an MSc in regulation from the London School of Economics, and a BA in political science and philosophy from the University of Heidelberg in Germany. He speaks native German and intermediate French.
