Alma Caballero

Alma Caballero, Director for Mexico, is a member of our Northern Latin America practice.

Prior to joining McLarty Associates, Ms. Caballero was the Latin American Policy Advisor at a Washington, DC law firm, where she worked closely with the firm’s legal practices to provide strategic advice, risk assessment, and consulting services to international clients with investments and operations in Latin America, and Latin American clients with a global presence or interest in expanding their operations overseas.  Ms. Caballero has also worked at the Embassy of Mexico in Washington, Mitsubishi Corporations (Americas), and The Brookings Institution, where she contributed to several publications, including “The End of Nostalgia: Mexico Confronts the Challenges of Global Competition.”

Ms. Caballero earned a B.S. in Science, Technology and International Affairs and an M.A. in Latin American Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service with an exchange at the London School of Economics.  She is a dual citizen of Mexico and the US, and speaks fluent Spanish, intermediate Italian, and intermediate Portuguese.  As of 2016, Ms. Caballero serves as the vice-chairman of the Board of Directors for, an organization dedicated to creating first-time safe spaces for kids in the most precarious neighborhoods in the world.
