Senior Managing Director, Energy and Critical Minerals
Amb. Geoff Pyatt, Senior Managing Director of the Energy and Critical Minerals Practice, has held leadership positions at the Department of State during a distinguished 35-year career in the US foreign service. He served as the US’s chief energy diplomat as Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources (2022-2025), where he led US diplomacy to mobilize international support for Ukrainian energy resilience and counter Russian weaponization of energy resilience. In this role, Amb. Pyatt also led negotiations with US allies on energy partnerships and critical mineral agreements. Prior to this posting, Amb. Pyatt served as Ambassador to Greece (2016-2022) across the Obama, Trump and Biden administrations, and was the US Ambassador to Ukraine (2013-2016). Earlier in his career, Amb. Pyatt was the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs as well as the Deputy Chief of Mission for the US Mission to International Organizations in Vienna, Austria. Amb. Pyatt has been nominated for the honor of Career Ambassador – the US Foreign Service’s highest rank – and is the recipient of numerous federal honors, including the Presidential Meritorious Service Award and Secretary of Defense Meritorious Civilian Service Award.
