Eliot D. Pence

Eliot Pence, Senior Advisor, advises our Africa practice and our work on Canada.

Mr. Pence led McLarty’s Africa practice from 2013-2018 and is now the head of international at Anduril Industries, a venture-backed technology company focused on defense. He is the co-founder of Insider, a PR firm, and Tofino Capital, a venture fund focused on growing technology companies operating in emerging markets. He is the founding Executive Director of the US-Nigeria Council.

Mr. Pence has written extensively on doing business in frontier markets in outlets including Financial Times, Reuters, and CNN.  He is a board member of the African Leadership Network, Liliesleaf Trust and a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Mr. Pence holds an MA from Yale University and a BA from the University of Victoria.
